31 Schools Tomorrow

Tomorrow, people from our Adult Bible Fellowship classes will be working in 31 schools in 5 different districts to help them prepare for the opening of school.  We have done this for a number of years and it has been a great project that we do in the name of the Lord.  Our people will be doing all types of things in order to help them prepare for the arrival of the students.  We constantly hear from administrators and teachers about what this means to the people working in these various schools.

This is an important project for us for a number of reasons.

  1. It gives us the chance to show that we are interested in the teachers and the students in our county.
  2. It is an encouragement and a reminder to those that serve in these schools that we care about them and realize that theirs is a tough job.
  3. It provides us an opportunity to pray strategically for these students and their parents, teachers, and administrators that will be impacted by what goes on in those facilities.
  4. It gives to us the opportunity to be salt and light for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  5. It will open the door down the road for individuals to share with people in other venues the good news of the gospel.
  6. In serving these schools, we have the opportunity to serve in the name of Jesus without thought of reward or recognition.  This gives us the chance to grow in our faith.

I am so grateful for the ministry that we have in Spartanburg Christian Academy.  It is an important part of our ministry and we are looking forward to another great year.  But I am also glad that we have the chance to show our support for those Christians that serve in the arena of public education.

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day and I am so grateful for the selfless attitude of believers in our fellowship that are willing to make a difference in this way.

Last year our Bible Fellowship class was assigned my school, Boiling Springs Jr High. One of our custodians, Diane, was at the school on the Saturday we were working. She was so grateful for the class putting out mulch all around the school. But, she was most touched by the prayer walk and prayer time when the class finished the work. She told me she appreciated the prayers and being included in the prayer time. Throughout the year, she would mention it to me. First North left a lasting impression on her. She will be with us again tomorrow as work at the school again.
