Approaching the End of the Year

The week between Christmas and New Year’s is sometimes very hectic as you try to take care of loose ends and, at the same time, can be a very down time as we have a tendency to be waiting on the new year to start.  As we approach the new year, there is a great deal of expectation and fear in the midst of our society.   Never has it been more important for us to focus upon the importance of living out our commitment to Christ.  The ministries that we have all have a very specific purpose when it comes to reaching people.  When you give your time, your abilities, and your resources you are making decisions that have an eternal impact. As we approach the end of the year, we are looking back at what we have done and looking forward to future opportunity.   It is a time of stewardship evaluation.  In these last few days of the year, people are coming by to make end-of-the year gifts. Our financial faithfulness is so very important.  Each of us must realize that when it comes to supporting the ministry of our church, there is no one out there to take our place.  God expects us to be faithful.  If you have any questions about end-of-the-year giving, please feel free to call our office and Terry Lanford will get your questions answered.

While many people see this as a time of great challenge, it is also a time of great opportunity.  I continue to say that because I have an absolute belief that it is true. I think that we need to keep that idea constantly before us.  There has never been a better opportunity for us to make a difference than we have right now.
