Last week the cover story of Newsweek magazine was entitled “The Religious Case for Gay Marriage.” Newsweek is a well-known news magazine.  Evidently they have decided to make a shift and sell out to the homosexual agenda.  For those of us that have watched this ultra-liberal magazine for many years, this comes as no surprise.  But this article is a major leap in the direction of support of homosexual causes including homosexual marriage.

In the article the author immediately dismisses the authority of scripture.  In an interview on National Public Radio (another liberal standard bearer) she admitted that the article was a result of the adoption of Proposition 8 in California which supports traditional marriage.

In the article she says, “The Bible was written for a world so unlike our own, it’s impossible to apply its rules, at face value, to ours.”  She also writes, “We cannot look to the Bible as a marriage manual, but we can read it for universal truths as we struggle toward a more just future.”

She is saying that we can make our own rules.  We can decide what we can do and cannot do.  This is just one more major step in the direction of the rejection of absolutes.

The author jumps around in every direction.  It is difficult to write an honest analysis when you are going to write a very narrow and inaccurate article under the pretense making an honest analysis.  As I read the article, it is so biased, that it is even embarrassing to liberals.

This is not just another article.  It is obvious that Newsweek has decided to be a voice for homosexuality.  That is no surprise, but you would think they would try to appear balanced as a news magazine.  They are not reporting the news, they are pushing an agenda.  They feel comfortable doing that because we let them get by with it.

For those of you that read Newsweek you may have trouble finding it under that name.  If the magazine is intellectually honest they must consider changing the name to “Biasweek.”
