Christmas on Mission
Sunday night our choir and orchestra had their home concert. We had a great crowd and it was a wonderful presentation. Not only was it a wonderful time of worship and celebration, it was exciting to get an idea of what the Lord has done with it in Bluffton, S.C. and San Diego, California.
I was moved by the presentation itself, but as I sat there I was amazed at some other things not quite so visible.
- I was amazed at the way so many of our people changed their schedule to be a part of this effort.
- I was amazed at the way they were willing to take any obstacle in stride in order to get the job done.
- I was amazed at the way they handled bad weather in Bluffton and the prospect of bad weather in San Diego.
- I was amazed at the way our technical crew was able to adapt to any circumstance and make it look like the original plan.
- I was thrilled with the response of the people in those cities especially since the vast majority of them are unchurched.
- I was grateful for the way our folks understand what we are really trying to do.
- I was excited to be a part of an effort that is trying at every turn to share the real message of Christmas
- I was excited about what would happen this week as our people continue to pray and prepare for the opportunities the Lord has provided for us this week.
It was a great evening and I went home pumped!
