Several months ago Wendy Duke brought me the manuscript of a book she has been working on describing their pilgrimage through the birth of their daughter, Savannah and how by the grace of God she defied all the medical opinions.  It is a story about the importance of life and the faithfulness of God.  It is a story of how God used people to touch the life of this family.  It is a story of trust and dependence on God in spite of the emotional pressure that so often defeats us.

When Wendy gave me the manuscript, I took it home and read it that night.  I could not put it down.  She did a great job writing the story.  I was reminded of how so many in our church loved them and prayed for them during this time.  I am so grateful for what God has done and continues to do in their family and ministry.

She had been thinking about publishing the book and the next morning I called her and gave her my humble, but accurate opinion.  “Wendy, you have to publish this right now.”

“The Grace By Which We Stand” is a great read and you will be challenged and encouraged as you read it.  I asked her to let us make it available to you.  She only has a few copies left from the first printing, but they will be available in the foyer after each service as long as they last.  I would encourage you to stop by and get one.  You will not be disappointed.  No matter what type of storm you may have experienced in your life, this story will speak to you.
