Committed Leadership

This has been a very encouraging day. This morning I met with one of our deacons that is trying to do something significant in order to help some people in the area of missions. It was exciting to see his desire and dedication to make a difference.  Later in the morning, I had a phone call from another one of our deacons that was talking to me about some information he had received and wanted to share on revival.  He has a great heart for lost people and uses every opportunity to try to lead people to Christ. I then went by the hospital to visit another one of our deacons who had a family member who was having surgery. When I went by the waiting room I found him talking to another family that had recently been touched by a tragic accident.  This family is facing some difficult days.  As I walked up, he was talking to them about the Lord and he had already made sure that they knew Christ as their Savior.  I happen to know that he constantly uses every opportunity to share the Lord. I had a chance to sit down and have prayer with this family and assured them that we would do whatever we could to help them since they are far from home. On the way back to the church, I thought to myself, this has been a great day. I already had the opportunity to see three of our deacons out there trying to make a difference in sharing the gospel.  I know that this happens continually in the life of our fellowship, but it sure is exciting to see it going on in so many ways.  The exciting thing is the day is not over and I am sure the Lord will use other members of our fellowship to make a difference for him today.
