We will try everything but…
If you were to watch the news networks for 24 hours, I wonder how many expert opinions you would hear. The number would be off the chart. You would hear from candidates for every office, congressmen, senators, former judges, government personnel, commentators, athletes, business people, professors, entertainers, voters on the left, voters on the right, news contributors, film makers, authors, newspaper people, magazine writers, pollsters, educators, psychologists, counselors, brokers, former presidents, previous political losers, economists, bankers, physicians, ethicists, parents, bureaucrats, governors, mayors, analysts, business people, consultants of every type, church leaders, etc. etc. You get the picture. The list goes on and on.
These people are supposedly giving us the very best information. We have so many questions and they are giving us all the answers. It would probably be a good idea for us to go on a “media fast.” It would probably help us clear our head and get a better perspective. We face many problems both personal and public, but the news is not all bad. There are many opportunities for us as believers to say a word and make a difference for the Lord. People will soon begin to discover that He is the only one that they can turn to with complete confidence.
In so many cases we are willing to try everything but what works most effectively and that is prayer. While the rest of the world is on the verge of information overload, we need to be focusing on what God has to say to us. That only happens as we spend time in His word and in Prayer.
Every day I have comments from those that are participating in our “30 days of Prayer” emphasis. I am hearing from people outside our fellowship. aWe must be found faithful and encourage others to do the same. Let’s try something a little different for the American people. Let’s Pray
