The Next Step
Yesterday we talked about the message, the make up and the mission of the church. The word that is used for church in Matthew 16 is the word Ecclesia. It refers to those that are “called out.”
When you realize how important it is to be a part of what God is doing in this world, you always ask the question of what do I do next?
Here are a few suggestions. You are going to find that at least one and probably more are a perfect fit for you. When you take that next step you can be assured that you are moving in the right direction.
-Have a consistent quiet time
-Become active in Bible Fellowship (the beginning of the new year is a great time to start)
-Take on a task in your class.
-Use your musical talent to lead in worship through our choir or orchestra
-Share your story
-Become a tither
-Become a part of our prayer ministry
-Serve in the nursery
-Work with children. We need some help in second grade right now!
-Work as an usher, greeter or one who works in the parking lot
-Make a friend of a lost person
-Invite someone to your Bible Fellowship Class
-Become an Awana worker. You help young people build scripture in their lives and you just have to listen.
-Find a way to encourage someone who needs a good word.
-Pray for your pastor and staff
-Work in the nursery.
There are a lot of opportunities. You just have to take the next step. Each step represents growth in your Christian life. It will not only be a blessing to you, it will be a blessing to others.
We are a large church and we are always in need of leaders. There is no such thing as a task in the work of the Lord that is unimportant.
