Fleshing It Out

Today I had the opportunity to hear our Chairman of Deacons, Matt Thompson, speak to the group at “The Bottom Line.” He spoke to the group on running your business by Christian principles.

Like many people in our fellowship, Matt is seeking to make a difference for the Lord on a daily basis. He is another example of the fact that God will give you all types of opportunities to serve Him if you will just seek to be alert.

Matt spoke about the importance of moving from success to significance. We live in a culture that tries to convince us that the only thing that is important is to be successful by the standards of this world. No matter how successful you may become in terms of this world, it is going to fade. Significance is going to last forever.

I went to the lunch with another one of our deacons, Terry Messinger. On the way back we talked about the desire to be truly significant. Life is too short to waste it only being successful. Our desire should be that we might do something significant for the glory of the Lord.

I am so grateful that we have so many people in our church that are really seeking to make a difference on a daily basis for the Lord. It is thrilling to see people in every walk of life “fleshing out” their walk with Christ.
