A World of Ideas
This week I had the opportunity to spend some time with a group pastors from large churches across the country. We meet once a year to share ideas and learn about what is happening in the large church.
The meeting was in Orlando and was hosted by Jay Strack. It was a time of great inspiration and challenge. Every year I come away from this meeting with a greater sense of responsibility. There is so much opportunity for the local church to touch a lost world.
No matter what the environment or situation, each church has its own set of barriers and possibilities. While the Lord has blessed our efforts, there is so much more that we can do.
It is not about ideas or programs, it is about the hearts of the people. What makes the difference is the passion in the lives of those that seek to follow Him.
Over the next few days I am going to spend a lot of time digesting the information that I have received and try to determine how we can use it to do a better job at what we do.
There is one thing that is always true. The dedication of individuals always makes a difference. The challenge is for us to do all that we can to use everything we have to share the gospel with every person in every place. It all starts with where we are right now.
