The Day After Easter
We had a great day yesterday. We had a tremendous crowd and it was a wonderful day celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. While a great part of the world gives lip service to the resurrection, we are surrounded by people who do not understand the significance of God raising Jesus from the dead.
We celebrate the resurrection by the way we live, not just how we act on Easter Sunday. The question is not only what we did yesterday, but what we did today.
Remember there a number of ways we can view the resurrection.
1. We can view it as a reminder. This is the way the world looks at it. It is little more than a religious observance.
2. We can treat it as a time of rest. There were many people that treated it that way. They forget about the challenges in their lives for just a moment. The tragic thing about this view is that a resurrected Lord Jesus is the only answer to the problems of life.
3. We should view it as a launching pad. When we serve the living Christ, there is not anything that He cannot handle. We have the victory in Jesus and we need to live like it. That does not mean that we will always get our way, but it does mean that because He conquered death, we can have an abundant life. That is what He wants us to have.
How did you respond to the resurrection today? I hope that when people came in contact with you today, they could tell that you were a follower of the living Christ.
