I believe that there is nothing that the devil hates more than for us to spend time with God.  He will seek to do whatever he can to disrupt our time with the Lord.  It is so important for us to be disciplined in this area.  I believe this is a struggle for most believers.

Recently, I have been reminded that is not true for everyone.  Every so often you come across someone that has a discipline that you can count on.  Homer Brown is just such a man.  The Browns have been members of our church and you can always count on their faithfulness.

Homer has been in the hospital recently and has had to spend a lot of time in Neuro-ICU.  He has had two head surgeries and yet he is still consistent in his walk with the Lord.  His daughter, Patty Smith, told me that his wife Mary Lou has been reading the scripture to him even while he has been in ICU.  He has not missed a day.  Every medical person that has been in that room  has been asked where they went to church and they have been invited to our church.  He even asked to be brought the bulletins from the Sundays he has had to miss so he can keep up with what is happening.  They never miss a week in terms of their giving and they are prayer warriors every single day.

Even in the midst of an illness, this man is a rock.  He is tremendous example for us to follow.  He is a picture of faithfulness and has been for many years.  Circumstances do not change his faithfulness.  A man like Homer challenges me to be better and I am grateful for him.
