Even Traffic Is Good for Something

This morning I had to drive to Atlanta just for the day.  I left early in the morning, hoping to get ahead of the Atlanta traffic.  That did not turn out to be the case.  It was not quite daylight, and as I came over a hill,  here was a mass of red taillights as far as you could see. It was the rush hour traffic. I had to say that it wasn’t too bad because it never came to a real standstill.  It moved along really better than I thought it would.

All of us hate to be in that type of traffic.  We’ll try to do anything to avoid it, but for me, there is one good thing about it.  t always reminds me of several things.  One is that every car represents a different life situation.  All of those people have different desires, destinations, and distractions.

Secondly, all of them have a need for the Lord in their life.  It is acceptable in America to say that you are a Christian, but there are relatively few that are experiencing the abundant life.

Thirdly, when I am in that type of traffic, I am overwhelmed by the opportunity that there is to touch massive numbers of people with the gospel. We don’t have that type of traffic in our city, but we still must bear that responsibility.  We must be doing everything we can to share the gospel. Our G.R.O.W.  groups began last night and that is a step in the right direction.

By the way, even though the traffic this morning was a good reminder, I am going to try to miss it tonight.
