This morning I am on my way to Missouri. It is going to be a very quick trip. Tonight I have the opportunity to speak to the Missouri Baptist Convention and present to them a challenge for missions. Certainly there are many people who could do a much better job at this than I can, but in all probability, the reason I was invited was because of the way our fellowship has become so mission minded.  I fly into Springfield, where I will be picked up and driven to the Convention about an hour and a half away. After I speak tonight, they are bringing me back to the airport hotel so I can catch a 6 a.m. flight home in the morning.  I hope you will pray for the session tonight. My prayer is that God will give me a word for them that will help them become more intentional in taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. That is what they have asked me to do and I will seek to speak out of the overflow of what God is doing in our church.

Today’s Telling the Story…Touching the Future devotional talks about sharing with others the freedom that is in Christ. My prayer for our church, as well as the pastors and lay people to whom I will be speaking, is that we will take these opportnities seriously with our time and our talents and our resources. This is not a time to be bashful in any of those areas.
