Some Things Do Not Change

I recently read the following:

“Among educated thinkers and writers of the day, the past was rapidly coming to be regarded as a time of barbarism and darkness.  And with each new year, scarcely had there been an age so skeptical toward tradition, so confident in the powers of human reason and science, so firmly convinced of the regularity and harmony of nature, and so deeply imbued with the sense of civilization’s advance and progress.”

It sounds like the day in which we live but it is a description of the period of history between 1788 and 1800 from the book, “The Great Upheaval”, by Jay Winik.  There are so many things that do not change in our world because of the ongoing condition of mankind.

It is just another reminder that what we do for Christ is what really makes a difference.  Our life is not measured by human standards but by what we do with what He has given to us.  What counts is what happens in the hearts and lives of people.  Everything that we have and every ability that we possess is there to be used in a way that brings honor to Him.

The Lord gives to us opportunities to be a part of something great which is the expansion and building of His Kingdom.

That is what “Tell the Story, Touch the Future is for each of us.  It is a chance to make a difference.  As we walk through this as a family of faith, the Lord is going to use us in a great way as we seek to follow Him.
