Everyone Has a Ministry
I am continually amazed at the number of ministries that are going on at our church. Some of these are very visible, while others are rarely noticed. They are important just the same.
Whether we realize it or not, God has given to every believer a ministry that is important to the kingdom.
There are a number of things that can make that ministry more exciting and effective.
- A Sense of Ownership - It is always exciting to hear someone talk about “my ministry.” This attitude of ownership causes us to have a greater commitment and passion for what we are doing.
- A Sense of Importance – Everything that is done for the cause of Christ is important. All of us need to realize that what we do for Christ has both far-reaching and eternal meaning. What you do for the Lord, no matter how large or small in the eyes of others, is critical to the Kingdom!
- A Sense of Accomplishment – When you can see things happening in the lives of people, you know that your efforts have not been in vain. That growth is not always immediately obvious. We can be confident that the Lord will use it and we should be watching to see what the Lord will accomplish through our efforts in various ways.
In I Corinthians 3:9 Paul says “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” The Lord gives to us the same type of opportunity, to make a difference for the kingdom.
As you come to church this Sunday, remember that the Lord has something for you to do. We need to come with a sense of expectancy about what He is going to do in our lives.
