Sunday Night
What a service we had on Sunday evening! We saw 65 people go through the waters of baptism. We heard about seeing hundreds of others come to Christ both at home and around the world through our missions efforts. We heard a report of the impact our people had in 35 different public schools across our area. We heard some tremendous testimonies about people sharing their story. It was a terrific end to a wonderful summer.
Everywhere I go, people are talking about that service. It was an incredible experience just to be a part of it. I am so proud of the effort our people have made to tell the story. While this is the end of the summer program, it is certainly not the end of the effort.
Yesterday I got an E-mail from a couple that was visiting in our area. They met one of our men that told them about our summer and our website, Itellthestory.com. They went home and read some of the testimonies. They then watched our Sunday night service on our webcast. They were deeply impacted by the service. They mentioned that they might be relocating to this area and if they did, they felt they had already found a church. The willingness of our man to share with them along with the testimonies and our webcast made a tremendous difference. God used all of those things in the lives of those people. That is the way it happens.
As we look back at Sunday night, it must be more than a wonderful experience. It should motivate us to share our faith. We often assume that everyone knows Christ when in reality we should assume they do not until we are sure. It should challenge us to go to even greater lengths in order to tell our story.
