Vacation Bible School
We have just finished the largest VBS in our history. We have had an incredible week. The kids have been marvelous, the workers have been incredibly confident and dedicated, and the results have been tremendous. We have enrolled 1219 in our VBS and we had 100 kids pray to receive Christ. This is the largest number enrolled and the largest number of salvations that we have ever had. We will do everything that we possibly can to follow up with these kids. Many of them come from homes where there is no church background. This has been a fantastic source of outreach for us. I believe that this is the result of what God is doing through our i’lltel emphasis for the summer.
It has been thrilling to walk around and to see what these VBS workers have done with these kids. Today I had the opportunity to sit with a couple who is working in our Bible School for the very first time. They could not say enough about the organization of our Bible School, as well as the commitment of our workers. I hear that over and over again. I think the response that we have had is due to the fact we have been very intentional about telling the story. This should be a challenge as well as a confirmation to all of us that telling our story must constantly be a priority in our lives.
This Sunday I am dealing with the parable of the wheat and the tares. In a country where a majority of people say they are born again, there are many who have said the right words, but have never given their life to Christ. The Bible speaks very clearly to this issue, and while many people may be putting up a front, the Lord knows the difference. That is the title for the message on Sunday. I hope you will be here and bring someone with you.
