Telecast Response
We continue to get great response from our new broadcast on Channel 13 at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. This covers a large part of upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Since going to channel 13 our response has picked up significantly. I hope that you will take every opportunity to tell others about this ministry. This is a way that we can touch those that we may not have the opportunity to touch in any other way.
We are also seeing a very exciting response to our First North Worldcast. This is a ministry that broadcasts our worship services over the web. Our services are live on Sunday and messages can be seen on demand by going to our website, FirstNorth.org. We have only been doing this for a couple of months and I am amazed at the numbers of people that are watching this ministry from places around the world. Some of have just found us. Others have been directed to this ministry by people who know about our ministry. We are getting a response from across the country and various parts of the world.
This is a tremendous opportunity and a great responsibility. This should cause us to pray with greater intensity for the impact of our ministries. We cannot always know the people these ministries are touching. I feel a tremendous responsibility every time I walk into that pulpit. I realize that there are people out there that we may never have the chance to touch again. We must assume that in some cases, this will be our only chance to touch people in our sanctuary as well as by way of our broadcast ministry. Let me encourage you to pray with a sense of urgency.
On another subject, I had the chance to talk with Dennis Nunn who was with us a couple of weeks ago. Dennis said that He had never been in a church better prepared than ours. He could not say enough about your kindness, encouragement and commitment. We continue to have people add their story to Itellthestory.com. Please take time to post your story. There is someone out there that will be touched by it. You will also be blessed by reading the stories of others. Take some time to look over this site and pray with me that God will continue to use it.
This Sunday, I begin a new series of sermons on the parables of Jesus in Matt. 13. The title of Sunday’s message is “What type of listener are you?” I think you will be surprised at the answer. I am looking forward to our time together.
