A Sense of Urgency
Whenever I have the opportunity to go to the mission field, I always come back with a greater sense of urgency, not just for the people in that country, but for every opportunity that God gives us to touch people with the Gospel. The world is filled with a great deal of turmoil, and while we like to think about ourselves as being spiritual, we are surrounded by lostness. On Sunday night, we saw a number of students and adults talk about the fact that they have a story to tell. The truth of the matter is all of us have a story to tell, and in the kingdom of God, we do not have the option of not sharing it. We are lulled to sleep whenever we believe that because the words “faith, Christian, and God” are tossed around that the gospel is going forth. That certainly is not the case. We have an opportunity and an obligation to share the truth.
I have already been thrilled to read some of the stories that are on our website www.Itellthestory.com. There is no reason for you not to use this tool which is a creative way to share your testimony. I would encourage you to make use of this resource and encourage others to read those testimonies. I have no doubt that if we will share these stories with other people we will see men and women and young people come to Christ.
We are off to a tremendous start in terms of our summer program and our Bible Fellowship year. I am approaching it with a sense of excitement and expectation, but also I pray we will approach it with a sense of urgency. God has given us the opportunity to do something great in terms of the Kingdom.
