Juilgalpa Orphanage
I have had a wonderful day. I have just finished touring the Juigalpa Orphanage. Many of you will remember that this was an orphanage that we helped build here in Nicaragua. A number of our people have been here and worked on this facility about six years ago. It is thrilling to walk over the grounds and to see what God is doing with this facility. As we were touring the orphanage, Wallace pointed out to me places where various members of our church worked. I saw in one of the sidewalks the term “First North 2004.” All of our people should be very excited about having been a part of this ministry. They take in children that have been abused or abandoned with no where else to go. They teach them to live their life, educate them, and help them to find a way to be a meaningful part of the culture. They teach them about the love of the Lord and lead them to Christ. You can’t help but be moved by what is happening in this place. At present, they house about 25 children and are expecting about 5 more, which will put them at full capacity. As I was walking around, I thought about how proud I am of the church for doing this, how grateful I am for those of you who have come and worked, personally, for the opportunity to be a part of it by being a part of our fellowship. Although this has been a long trip from the mission house to here, it has been a very profitable day.
Our kids did a tremendous job yesterday and we have seen a large number of people come to know Christ and we have been able to help a number of churches. Thank you for making it possible for these young people to come and for caring about people who need to know the Lord.
I am looking forward to coming home tomorrow and seeing you on Sunday. On Sunday night, we will have a special report from our Nicaragua team as well as our Turkana team. You will be thrilled to see what God is doing.
