Greetings from Nicaragua
This week I am spending time with our team of 80 young people in Nicaragua working with Chosen Children Ministries. We had a great trip down and had a very productive day yesterday looking at possibilities for growth in ministry. What has happened to Chosen Children Ministries under the leadership of Wallace and Kim Nix is nothing short of incredible. The facility in which we are staying is a wonderful facility and all of it has been done in only the last 16 months.
Nicaragua is a county of children. About 80 percent of the people are under the age of 18. They are very friendly and very open to the Gospel. There is tremendous opportunity here and God is using Chosen Children Ministries in a wonderful way. It is a very poor country with almost no middle class, so everywhere you look, you see tremendous need.
Our team is doing extremely well. You would be very, very proud of them. It is very hot here and they are working very hard in a number of different areas…whether it be construction, neighborhood surveys, sports camps, or Bible clubs. A number of our guys spent time yesterday helping a man dig a well by hand, literally chiseling through solid rock. I have been so proud of them. They never complain and they have learned to adapt to any circumstance.
Today Al and I will be teaching a Pastors’ Conference to pastors in the area. We pray that the Lord will use that to encourage them to expand the work of their ministry.
