Pat Perry

Last night I began a revival at Standing Springs Baptist Church in Simpsonville.  We had a great beginning.  There was a great crowd and during the invitation, the altar was full of people.  It was a good beginning.  I hope that you will pray for me as I preach this week.  The meeting goes through Wednesday night.

When I walked in last night,  I saw a man by the name of Pat Perry.  He had served as pastor of that church at one time and then spent a number of years in Evangelism.  He is a tremendous prayer warrior.  He has done prayer seminars all over our state.  Most of the pastors in our state know Pat and have a great appreciation for him.

Before I began my message last night, I thanked that church for what they had meant to our church.  I told them that they have had a significant impact on our ministry.   Some of them looked a little puzzled.  I then went on to explain how I appreciated how they had enhanced and supported the ministry of Pat Perry.  You see, he is a reflection of them and they are a reflection of him.  As a result, they have had an impact on hundreds of pastors across our state and beyond.

Over the years, I have probably seen Pat over 100 times.  On every single occasion, no matter where we were, he would look me in the eye and say, “Mike I prayed for you by name this morning!”  When he told you that, you knew it was true.  For years he has done it for people in ministry.  Last night, I had the chance to thank him publicly for that prayer support.

Because of his prayers for me, he has had an impact on our church.  And because of the prayers and support of those people for Pat, they have had a part in our ministry.  That is how it works.  The little things do make a difference and “it’s all connected.”  If you keep your eyes open, you will see it all the time.
