I have a long list for our staff today.  Since we just got finished with our staff retreat, we have a lot of ideas and a lot of things on our plate.  I am excited about working with people that have a vision and the energy to see things happen for the Lord.

There is nothing mundane about the ministry.  You never have two days that are the same and you never have a day that goes the way that you plan it.  Opportunities are always on the horizon and people are constantly in the midst of meeting a challenge in their lives.

There are some days when I have a long list and never get to work on a single item because something more important comes to the forefront.   Sometimes that can be frustrating but you have to remember that the Lord is not surprised by any of these circumstances.

This is a picture of the Christian life.  It is about finding and working on His agenda not your own.  I tend to have a long list but at the end of the day, my responsibility is to serve Him in whatever way possible.  It is the same for all of us.

Our success is not measured by the number of items that we check off but the way that we honor Him with every part of our life.  When we put Him first, we have a tendency to get a lot more done.  That is a lesson that I need to remember today.
