We had a tremendous crowd and a great service on Wednesday night.  I have had so many comments, E-mails and testimonies concerning what the Lord is already doing.  Our staff felt very strongly that we should put more emphasis on “The Call to Follow Christ.”   Not only are we offering it to the church but everyone of our staff will be involved in leading a group through this important study.  It goes right along with the sermon series that we are doing entitled “ iTell the Story.”   We do have a story to tell and that is going to be our focus for the entire year.  I am really excited about what we are going to see God do in the lives of people.  It is already happening.  The Lord is working in people’s lives.

This week I had a call from CNN.  They wanted to be in our services and ask our people some political questions and talk with me about some political issues.  I did not feel right about it.  I believe that this is an important time in our church and what we are doing will have eternal implications. I declined the opportunity because I did not want to take the chance that we would be distracted in any way.  I am trying to stay very intentional in terms of my prayer life.  I hope you will join me in praying for our services on Sunday.  People are making some critical decisions and this can be a great time of advancement and growth for all of us.  CNN wanted to do a story.  There is nothing wrong with that, but we need to be involved in telling “the” story.  Thank you for what you are going to do to make this possible.
