Mission Investment
Recently a pastor in our state did some case studies on churches in South Carolina that have built significant missions programs. Today I had a chance to read the report. We were one of those churches. As you read the report you will find that there are some common threads which run through each program.
As I read the report, I was thrilled. The reason is that we have had the opportunity to be involved in all of the other churches. We have been a part of their mission conferences or they came to a seminar here or we have helped them structure their missions program.
I am not talking about credit here. All the honor goes to the Lord. I am talking about the opportunity to make an investment in other ministries and see them making a difference as well. Not only did we have a chance to partner with these churches but we have had a part in the many churches that they have touched.
The Lord has given us many opportunities and I always pray that we will be found faithful. This has been true not only in the area of missions but every part of our church
It is just another example of the principle that when you are involved in the things of God, and you are found faithful, He will multiply your efforts to His glory. This is one of the ways that we change the world. When we hear such a report, we should be overjoyed and anxious to take the next step that He would have us to take. We should be ready to be involved in whatever way God provides. We should be excited about the opportunities He will give to us this very week.
