A  number of you have shared with me since Sunday that you plan to read the Bible through this year.  This is great news.  There is nothing more important that spending more time with the Lord through His Word and prayer.  Now is the time to start.  It is not too late.

I know what you are thinking.  You have started a quiet time before and failed.  You are still feeling  the guilt about the last time.  It is time to go again.  Make no mistake about it.  It is hard to consistently spend that time with Him, but it is so valuable.  Once you build the habit, you will find that it not so difficult.  The devil will still try to distract you.  There is nothing that he wants you to do less than spend time with the Lord.

We are going to provide you with some great help.  All of us are in the same boat and we need to encourage one another.  As we begin this year we are using our time on Wednesday night to help you build a quiet time.  We will be following a course entitled “A Call to follow Christ”.  This is a course of study that assists you in building your quiet time.  I have been over the material.  It is easy to follow and is very powerful.  It will get you off to a great start.  We will be meeting in groups during the discipleship hour on Wednesday night.  It is a non-threatening, fellowship-oriented study.  It is designed so that everyone will fit in.  This represents a great opportunity to get started in building the most important habit in your life.

Spend time with the Lord today.  It will make a difference in the outcome of the day.
