As I write this late at night, I have been reminded of what a busy time of year this is. There is so much to do and we are so easily distracted.  I suppose that in so many ways we are taken out of our routine because of all that surrounds the holidays.

At the same time, it is a time filled with opportunity for the follower of Christ.  The business world loves the business that Christmas brings into the stores but they are not willing to acknowledge the reason for the season.  We now have holiday festivals, holiday activities and plays in our schools, and holiday trees.  We have a tendency to think that is happening in other parts of the country, but it is true right where we live.  This is the ultimate in hypocrisy or ignorance.  I am not sure which is more apparent.

No matter what our pagan culture tries to do, they cannot hide the truth.  God loved us so much that He sent his Son to be born in a stable in order that we might have the chance to have eternal life.  I know that you are busy, but please remember that you have a message to share and it is our responsibility to share it clearly every chance that we get.

On a more personal note, in the morning Allison is having surgery on her knee.  She has a torn ACL and it is going to be repaired.  I would appreciate it if you would pray for her surgery and for her rehab.  She is handling it well, but it is a test for her dad.  I have a couple of books that I hope to finish in the waiting room.  That will help.
