Tuesday Is Always Busy
There is always plenty to do, but Tuesday is usually a very busy day. Our staff meets on Tuesday. This is a very important time in the life of our church. It is not unusual for us to meet for several hours. Our entire administrative staff will meet together. During that time we will cover a wide variety of issues.
We spend some time looking at the previous week and then we make sure we are ready for what comes next. We will spend some time on various projects in the future. We will take some time to go over the calendar. That is always a challenge. It never ceases to amaze me how many things are happening in the life of our church and our school. We will talk about outreach ideas and ways in which we can do a better job in every area of our church. There is always room for improvement.
We will go around the room and give each staff member a chance to report on their area or throw out a new idea. I try to encourage every staff member to stay abreast of every part of our ministry. They are here to help us build this church. They may do it through a specific area such as youth, children, missions, music, facilities, outreach, etc. but their task is to build the total church.
We go over a large number of prayer requests and special needs before we pray together.
Usually, a number of us will try to go to lunch together. We may talk about business, but it is also a good time to just spend some time together. After lunch we may have some additional meetings about some specific projects or needs. It is a full day and our staff knows how important it is.
I try to spend some time before the meeting preparing for various topics and praying that the Lord will direct us. In the afternoon, I try to take what we have done and determine what I need to do to help us move as aggressively as possible.
I am grateful for a dedicated and committed staff. They know that what they do is important to the kingdom and they will give their very best effort.
When you have a moment today, please pray for me and for our staff. We will be praying for you.
