Jeremiah 29

Jeremiah 29:11-13 says “For I know the plans I have for you—this is the Lord’s declaration—plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me when you search for me with all your heart.”

Many of us have heard that scripture before, but we are not familiar with the context found in the rest of Jeremiah 29.  He is writing to people that are living in exile, those that had been taken away to Babylon.  Jeremiah told them that they would be in this position for 70 years.

Even though that was not the place where they wanted to be, Jeremiah let them know that God had a plan for them and He would use them if they kept their focus on Him.

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we do not want to be.  We find ourselves complaining.  What we see in Jeremiah is that no matter what the circumstance, God still has a plan for you and for me.  We must keep seeking His will for our lives.  I read a question that puts it in perspective.  Are you on this earth to do something, or are you just here for something to do.  You are here for a purpose.

On another subject, yesterday I had a call from someone that was at our Imagine 06 Conference.  They said,  “We could not believe what we saw at your conference.  We have been challenged and we are ready to go.”  That is exactly what we wanted to see happen as a result of the conference.  Others have seen what you have done and it has challenged them to do the same.  Praise the Lord!
