Attention to Detail
Last night I walked by the choir room. They were in the midst of recording music for the Twin Trees recording. I have watched them do that before and it is an amazing thing to watch. They take great pains to make sure that there is no outside noise. The singers have to pay careful attention. I have watched them go over verses, lines, and even phrases over and over until they can get it right. The desire is to put forth the best music that they possibly can. This is a project that is being done for the glory of the Lord. Every one of them truly believes that it needs to be the very best.
I’m sure they were very tired when they finished. Some of them were tired when they got there. They had worked all day, taken care of families, and then came to choir practice.
This is not the only place where this type of thing happens. Bible study teachers put in many hours preparing the best lesson possible. Children’s teachers prepare lessons, plan games, and spend time getting their rooms ready. Greeters are here early. Youth workers have been in touch with kids during the week. Administrators, outreach leaders, prayer coordinators, social chairman and a host of others work hard to make sure they do the best job they can. I could go on and on, but the result is that God uses this attention to detail to touch the lives of people.
Each of us should have responsibilities in the church and we should be giving great attention to detail. Doing our very best for the Lord makes a difference. The things that we do in the name of the Lord last forever. It demands our best efforts.
