What We Remember
Today, our thoughts are filled with the memories of 9/11. I certainly don’t need to recount the events of that day. We were attacked by terrorists that stand against Jesus as the Son of God. They also hate our country because we stand for freedom. Everyday we hear talk about the war on terror. I sometimes wonder if our people really realize that we are in a real war. All of us will we focused on it today but the fact is that America has a short memory.
You can probably remember where you were during each part of that tragic day. I can remember where I was at several key moments. The thing that I personally remember the most was how hundreds of us gathered that evening to pray for our country and the victims of this terrible attack.
Our country had been attacked by an enemy that would go to any lengths to destroy us. How do you deal with people that have no values and care nothing about life? We were reminded of twp things.
One is that we are totally dependent on God. There is no program or policy that can protect us. In various circumstances we are reminded of how much we need to be connected to Him. We must continually call upon Him for guidance, protection, and comfort.
Secondly, we must remember that as followers of Christ, we have the responsibility to share the truth with those that are looking for the real answers. Around the world, people are just going through the motions. Today is not only a reminder of the attack, but also a reminder to believers that we can and must make a difference for the Lord in the lives of people, here and abroad.
