Living in Uncertain Times
They have found the two soldiers that were kidnapped, tortured, and killed in . It is yet another vivid reminder of the dangerous world in which we live. Our soldiers live under constant threat. Now we are told that will test a missile that can reach our shores. We must be on the alert. It is a time to increase our prayers for our soldiers and for our leaders.
Here at home there is constant political posturing with very little action. Everything is looking toward the mid-term elections. Politicians are always looking to place themselves in the best possible light.
We are watching the Episcopal church move toward the acceptance of Homosexuality. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is discussing making the trinity “gender neutral” and will vote on a proposal that will allow local congregations to have some leeway on ordaining clergy in a homosexual relationship.
We are a selfish and Biblically ignorant group of people. It is time for the people of God to take a stand and pray for a spiritual awakening in our country. The evangelical church must lead the way.
Where does all of this begin? It begins in your heart and mine. We must sound the call for a return to a dependence on the Lord. The only hope that we have for this world is that Jesus might be lifted up in every area of life. We have been entrusted with that message.
There has never been a time when it was more important to be a part of our Prayer on the Edge ministry. We must become serious prayer warriors. Make prayer a central part of your relationship with the Lord. We must not only pray for our personal needs, but for God’s will to be done in this world.
