Most people do not realize how important the little things are in service to our Lord.  God uses things that are done behind the scenes to do some amazing things that advance the Kingdom of God.  Let me share with you two examples I saw today.

Our Bible school is only a couple of weeks away.  We will have hundreds of children on our campus and it takes a great deal of preparation.  The ministry that we have with these kids is so important.

Sunday I asked for some help to help prepare the craft materials for these kids.  That is not the most exciting job in the world, but today close to 100 people showed up to help.  What a tremendous response!  What a great testimony!  Our people realize that we can all have a part in reaching out to these kids.  I did not see everyone and I don’t have a list, but I am grateful for each of them and the attitude of service that is so prevalent in our fellowship.  We see it over and over again.

I saw another example in the memorial service for Dixie Bly.  Dixie was such a wonderful servant for the Lord.  She gave herself unselfishly to other people.  I continue to hear stories of how she ministered to people in the name of the Lord Jesus.

While she battled cancer her Bible Fellowship class did an incredible job of taking care of her.  They loved her and cared for her.  I had a chance to spend a little time with the class tonight and I told them what a model class they are in terms of being there for the members of that class.

You can see examples like these all across our fellowship.  People are constantly asking me what makes our church different.  This is certainly one of the major reasons.  I am always grateful for the way our people step up in so many areas of service.  You make the difference.
