Sunday night was very special as we heard reports from two mission teams.  It is obvious that the Lord is giving us the opportunity to make a difference for Him around the world.

We heard a report from our Turkana medical team.  They were able to hold several medical clinics.  They were able to see about 500  patients and saw around 47 people come to know the Lord.  We have been involved in this area for a number of years.  They do not have a missionary there so what we do is a major part of the ministry with this people group.

Over the years we have seen a large number of churches planted and those local pastors are anxious to  see the work grow.  When we first started, the work was very small.  Now we have churches that we have helped plant starting to plant churches on their own.  That is the way it is supposed to work.

We pray that the result will be a church planting movement (CPM).  That is what we are working toward.

We also heard a great report from our youth trip to .  They built a church, conducted door-to-door surveys, ran sports camps and did Bible clubs.  They were able to impact an entire area with 67 people praying to receive Christ.  The church that they built is a church that was started by a church we planted two years ago.

You can work for years and not see something like that take place.  The Lord is certainly blessing our efforts on the mission field.  There are several things we need to remember as a result of this work

First, we are responsible to do all that we can on a daily basis to reach the people around us.  Outreach should be a way of life.

Secondly, we must expand what we are doing to reach out in all directions.  There is so much that we can do if we will be committed to the task and to doing our part

Thirdly, we need to be helping others do the same thing.  We have a responsibility to pass along what we know to other churches.  This is the wave of the future.  There are many churches that will be looking to churches like ours as a model.  We must help them as best we can.  In that way we multiply our effectiveness.  That is what God would have us to do.

Each of us must play a part.  There is work for each of us to do.  Each of us must be a great commission Christian.
