The other night I woke up about 3:00 am.   I usually do not have any trouble sleeping, but when I wake up like I did the other night, I am wide awake.  I always wake up with something on my mind and there is no use trying to go back to sleep for a while.

I think that sometimes the Lord is waking me up.  I have never heard an audible voice, but I know that He has something for me.  I have learned to not just lie there and try to go back to sleep.  This has become for me a time of opportunity.  I get up immediately and try to concentrate on what the Lord has for me.

Sometimes I begin with a time of prayer seeking His direction for my thoughts, but most of the time a project or ministry comes to mind.  That is what happened the other night.

I have been thinking and praying about what God has for us in the future.  We have so many exciting things happening and so many opportunities on the horizon.  I see what God is doing in our midst now and I know that he is preparing us for the future.  Recently of what it says in Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”  He has already given us the best in His Son, so you know that what He has for us in the future is also wonderful.

As I sat down to read and reflect, I began to write down ideas that the Lord brought to my mind.  It is important for us to be ready when He is ready.  There are several things that are imperative.

1. We need to have a life devoted to Him
2. We need to make sure that we are prayer warriors
3. We need to concentrate on challenging and encouraging as many around us as possible.

God speaks to us and touches our lives in many ways.  No matter what time of day, we need to live with an attitude of expectation.
